Volunteering Northumberland

Volunteering Northumberland provides volunteering infrastructure services for the county and is accredited with Volunteering England as providing the six core services of a Volunteer Centre. These are:

  1. Brokerage – matching volunteers with opportunities
  2. Marketing – encourage interest in volunteering and take up of opportunities
  3. Good Practice – promoting this to organisations that involve volunteers
  4. Developing Opportunities – working with organisations to do this
  5. Policy Response – campaigning on issues that affect volunteering
  6. Strategic Development – informing thinking on volunteering, locally and nationally

Our office is in the WCVS building in Ashington where the manager, Charles Tremeer, and development workers, Ann Broome and Andrea McLaughlin, are based. We also have two rural development workers, Claire Heaviside in the west of the county and Terri Bearhope in the north, who are based in the communities they serve.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or your organisation would like to involve volunteers in its activities, then please get in touch and we will arrange to meet you. See our contact page for details.
